I encountered C on the footbridge when I was hurrying to the MTR station at dusk.
At the sight of her, I could hardly trust my eyes.
Seeing her pass by me, suddenly, like awakening from a dream, I called out her name.
She turned around.
"I am astonished, I am really astonished."
Me too.
We looked at each other and smiled.
"Do you feel that? It's shaking." The ground where we stand on shook.
"Yes, maybe some heavy vehicles have just passed."
Right. Only have I never felt it before, you know.
She was on her way to a journey of fantasy.
We talked a few words, and said goodbye to each other.
Yes, it could be kind of coincidence.
Yes, you could run into a friend, an acquaintance, a relative, anybody, anytime, anywhere, in this world.
Yes, you could have met one hundred times before you became aware of each other's being one day.
Things happen in their own logics.
It's really amazing.

would love to hear what impression it gives you - while T found it light-hearted, i found it rather sad.

thanks. have listened to the 1&2 parts and need to try the rest in quiet.
I don't find The Ständchen light-hearted at all, or i have to admit that for me, Lieder by Schubert always have that hue of melancholy...
have to talk to you later. all the time interupted by someone else and forgot what i would say - back to work now...
